Who We Are

Autism Walls, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public charitable corporation organized and operated specifically to improve the lives of adults with severe disability from Autism by providing appropriate and affordable housing.

We are based in Maryville Tennessee and support the greater Knoxville area in southeast Tennessee.

Our mission is to help these adult individuals improve the quality of their life and dignity by providing long term home housing at a low cost that is otherwise not readily available or affordable on the available income or funds of these individuals. We work to purpose build housing to support the unique needs of these disabled individuals which will include personal living area along with communal living, kitchen, cooking, and eating space as well as space for caregivers and assistants to operate efficiently. We also consider modifying existing housing it can be more cost effective to efficiently meet the purpose needs of these individuals.  Each home is intended to support multiple disabled individuals and provide long term stability for their housing needs.   

There are many adult individuals that are severely disabled from Autism that require 24/7 caregiving services in order to live and survive. These individuals only receive social security, supplemental social security, or a small government stipend to assist in funding their living requirements including food and housing.  Care giving services are funded by state programs, however funding for affordable and appropriate housing is extremely limited or non-existent. Housing that is available is generally not affordable for these individuals at market rental rates or is not compatible in design for their needs.  This organization helps fill this need for housing by charitable fundraising.
